We're all a bit tired of waiting and are ready for him to get home though!Ryan's unit is in Virginia this week and will be leaving just as soon as they can get through all the debriefing and medical checks. They arrived there Saturday morning and Ryan said the first thing he did was turn on the TV to see real commercials. They only have the Armed Forces Network channel in Iraq and the commercials are all military related, he said is was actually something to look forward to because it meant he was really back in the real world. I think it's still surreal to him, it will likely hit that he is home once he's back in Seattle. I can't wait to greet him!
A couple of weeks ago we celebrated Emmett's 2nd birthday and he shared his cake with me to celebrate another year passing in my life.
That night we sawLayne in his latest theatrical performance where he again stole the show. He played two characters, quirky and funny. He had us all in stitches.
Noel & Eva hosted Thanksgiving this year and made the most amazing prime rib. We're waiting on the turkey until Ryan comes home since it's his favorite. Kadi and her Ryan joined us and the kids kept us all entertained. Another fun evening although I know Kadi was looking forward to introducing Ryan to the West-Paterson family game experience. We always end up with quotes, generally from Layne, that keep us laughing all year. Hopefully we can get the games out on Christmas.
We look forward to seeing everyone next weekend! Yeah our boy is coming home!
